Flight disruptions update at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) following industrial action by Air Traffic Control (ATC) workers.
Due to the ongoing industrial action by Air Traffic Control (ATC) workers, which commenced on 30 August 2026, some flights have been cancelled, delayed or otherwise disrupted.
Customers are advised to travel to the airport only if they have been advised to do so or if their flight is confirmed as operating. Click here to check your flight status before travelling to the airport.
Passengers whose flights are directly affected by the disruption may be eligible for the following rebooking and refund options:.
1. Rebookings
Affected passengers may change their travel date, including to a later date beyond the current disruption period, providing flexibility while operations return to normal.
Change and no-show penalties will be waived.
If the destination is changed, any applicable fare difference will apply.
Changes must be made on or before 20 September 2026.
Refunds
Affected passengers may request a refund as follows:
Wholly unused tickets: Full refund.
Partially used tickets: Refund of the unused portion, less the prorated value of the journey already travelled.
Refund penalties will be waived.
Refund requests must be submitted on or before 20 September 2026.
