Transportation of dogs to United States of America.
Starting July 14, 2021, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has issued a temporary suspension of dogs (carry-on or checked), including fully-trained service dogs, traveling to the U.S. from a country considered high-risk for dog rabies.
Only service dogs traveling to the U.S. from high-risk countries with an approved CDC Dog Import Permit may fly on Kenya Airways.
After October 14, 2021, dogs coming from high-risk countries with CDC Dog Import Permits must enter only at approved ports of entry.
These rules apply to all dogs, including puppies, service animals, and emotional support dogs. These rules also apply whether you are:
- Just visiting the United States with your dog
- Importing dogs into the United States
- Traveling out of the United States and returning with your dog after a temporary visit, such as a vacation or holiday, or for shopping or visiting friends and relatives.
Passengers who do not follow CDC’s rules, their dog may not be allowed to enter the United States.
