    Musee Vivant

    This Zoo and museum of natural history is a favourite amongst many tourists. There are Chimpanzee exhibits as well as wildlife from the nearby Lake Tanganyika – Fish, Birds, and Crocodiles & Snakes. There is traditional Burundi Village that one can explore, and occasionally groups of Burundi Drummers gather and create quite a spectacle.

    Rusizi National Park

    If you want to see Hippo’s and Crocodiles this is the place! This is home to the largest Nile Crocodile ever recorded, and goes by the name of Gustave. It is a great area for birders as well and you can easily get a tour guide to show you around the beautiful National Park.

    Livingstone-Stanley Monument

    Just about 12 kilometers from Burundi you can witness a statue dedicated to the two famous explorers Dr. Livingstone and Henry Stanley that passed through the area.

    You can also go to the beach, visit the vast array of lookout points, enjoy a sports match and watch the local gatherings and performers to enjoy the Burundi cultural experience. There are some great scenic drives that one can do as well.

    The best beaches to visit are Bora Bora, Karere Beach, Saga Plage and Geny’s Beach. Sunbathe until your heart is content on these amazing beaches and enjoy a few cold drinks as you watch the sunset. All in a days work in Bujumbura!
