Children below five (5) years of age must be accompanied by a person of minimum eighteen (18) years of age unless being their own parent or legal guardian. The accompanying person shall be:
- Physically and mentally able to help themselves and assist the minor with (un)fasten seat belt, emergency procedures, meals and sanitary needs.
- Have a confirmed seat on the same flight(s) and in the same cabin.
Unaccompanied Minors (5 - 14 years old)
Children below 5 years of age will not be accepted as unaccompanied minors. Kenya Airways will only accept responsibility for Unaccompanied Minors between Airport of embarkation and deplaning. These children must be accompanied as far as the airport and the parent/guardian escorting the unaccompanied minor must remain at the Airport until the flight departs.
The children should also have a pocket that holds all their details and is collected at the check in counters.
The Unaccompanied Minor Service may also be requested for children who are between 15 and 17 years old (both ages included).
