Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, is situated at the confluence of the Blue and White Niles. Among the tourist attractions here are the Omdurman camel market, the Arab souk and the National Museum. The main areas of archaeological interest include Bajrawiya, Naga and Meroe.
Sudan is bordered by Egypt, the Red Sea, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic,South Sudan, Chad and Libya.
South Sudan is a landlocked country located in northeastern Africa. Much of its landscape consists of tropical rainforest and its protected national parks are home to a plethora of migrating wildlife. South Sudan is home to one of the largest animal migration routes in the world, as well as having significant populations of classic safari animals such as elephants, giraffes, lions, and cheetahs. South Sudan also has extensive swamp and grassland regions.
The White Nile, a main tributary of the Nile River, also passes through the country. The climate of South Sudan varies but it is mainly tropical. Juba is the capital and largest city in South Sudan.
