Why is the Flying Blue loyalty programme changing?
Flying Blue is reviewing its rules to strengthen its focus as a loyalty programme. Being a frequent flyer loyalty programme, Flying Blue is committed to rewarding its active clients.
If you are a Flying Blue member, your Award Miles are valid for life. The only condition is that you take a flight* at least every 20 months with Kenya Airways, AIR FRANCE, KLM or one of the Sky Team partner airlines.

When will the new rules come in to force?
The new rules will apply from 1 April 2009. All Award Miles earned before August 2007 will expire in April 2009, except if you have taken a flight with a paid ticket allowing Miles accumulation with Kenya Airways, AIR FRANCE, KLM or any of the Sky Team partners.
This rule applies to all members of Flying Blue Ivory, regardless of the date that their programme membership commenced and applies to all Award Miles, regardless of the date they were earned.

When will the Miles expiry rule affect me?
From 1 April 2009, if you haven't taken a flight with a paid ticket allowing Miles accumulation within the previous 20 months, your Award Miles will be subject to the new Miles expiry rule defined at the end of 2008.

Which activities will let me extend the validity of my Miles?
To extend the validity of your Award Miles simply:
- Take a flight with a paid ticket allowing Miles accumulation with Kenya Airways, AIR FRANCE, KLM, Air Europa, or Aircalin at least every 20 months.
- Take a flight with a paid ticket allowing Miles accumulation with any of our Sky Team partners at least every 20 months.
Flights made with partner airlines which are not members of Sky Team as well as activities with non-airline partners do not allow you to extend the validity of your Award Miles.

The rules of the programme can be modified at any time by Flying Blue.
Flying Blue members are informed of these changes in the following ways:

websites.
- Letters or direct e-mails regarding Miles expiry
In return, any client can decide to leave Flying Blue programme by cutting up ones Flying Blue membership card and send it to our Customer Services Centre. In this instance, the client will have 6 months in which to use his Award Miles, then he will leave the programme. read more...

This tool allows you to see all flight availability for coming months. You can also use your Miles with over 150 of our non-airline partners.
If you are a member of Flying Blue Elite, you benefit from exclusive access to selected Award Tickets.
