Kenya Airways flies to Gaborone
Friday, September 4, 2009: Kenya Airways today launched direct flights to Gaborone, Botswana.
An incredible promotional fare offer of US$ 43 return airfare offer is being made on this route for bookings made before September 10, 2009
There will be three weekly flights from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday to the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport.
“The three weekly flights from Nairobi will open up Botswana for Kenyan investors, tourists and horticultural products. It will also enhance the opportunity of exporting beef and beef products to Europe,” Kenya Airways Chief Operating Officer Mr Bram Steller said.
He said Kenya Airways will work closely with Air Botswana to increase frequencies on the route.
This new route links Botswana to the rest of the world and offers more connection alternatives to Johannesburg, South Africa.
It is also time-saving and cost-effective to passengers due to added transit visa requirement by South Africa for passengers transiting Johannesburg, Steller added.
Since its inception three decades ago, Kenya Airways has grown steadily and today serves three million passengers annually and flies to 38 countries, including cities across Africa, Amsterdam, Paris and London. It also flies to select destinations in Asia, including Dubai, Mumbai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Bangkok.
The airline has also invested in some of the most modern aircraft fleets and training centre in Africa. It has a workforce of over 4,200 employees.
