Kenya Airways increases frequency to Mombasa
Kenya Airways has increased its daily frequency to Mombasa from 7 to 11 times daily. This will provide a spread of flights throughout the day from 6.45am until 10.30pm from JKIA to Mombasa and from 6.00am until 8.30pm on the return. These new frequencies are in response to increased demand from business and tourist travellers.
In the meantime, the airline has ceased its operations to Lamu. Richard Nuttall, KQ’s commercial director advises the route has been cancelled owing to the combination of low passenger numbers and high fuel prices. Kenya Airways does not have a small enough aircraft to keep the route viable. The Lamu route continues to be well served by other domestic operators.
