Triple Award for Kenya Airways
7th July 2008 ... Kenya Airways received triple honours during this year’s Company of the Year (COYA) awards. KQ scooped top awards in the strategic planning and emergency preparedness categories with the third award going to HR Director Paul Kasimu who was declared as the Manager of the Year. These awards were presented during the annual COYA Awards ceremony held at the Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi on Friday 4th July 2008.
The Strategic Planning award recognizes Kenya Airways as being the company that has demonstrated home-grown and participatory strategic planning practices, an ability to swiftly align the new business realities to the changing world-wide business environment as well as a good reputation that is well bench-marked.
In the emergency preparedness category, KQ got rewarded for ensuring that the corporate strategy is aligned to risk and threat to business continuity while adhering to industry emergency preparedness guidelines.
The manager of the year, HR Director Paul Kasimu was selected for being well respected among peers, having set exemplary systems wherever he has worked and having been a key driver of the organization’s strategic intent.
The COYA awards seek to identify and recognise organizations that have a practical and result-oriented leadership and management style. This year, the COYA awards introduced a new assessment framework developed by building up on the previous COYA, opinions and feedback from the COYA participating companies while adapting the Malcolm Bridge National Quality Award, the European Foundation for Quality Management and the Japan Quality Award.
