Kenya Airways suspends flights to Mali
Issued at 5:30pm (Local Time), Wednesday 31st October, 2007.
Effective 2nd November 2007, Kenya Airways will suspend flights to the Bamako Senou International Airport in Mali. Flights to Bamako will resume on 9th November 2007.
This is due to repair work currently being undertaken on the runway which has necessitated the closure of the airport to all airlines. Kenya Airways currently operates 4 flights weekly to the Malian capital on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Passengers in and out of Bamako can find their way to Dakar which is 24 hours by road or 48 hours on a very unreliable train service. Kenya Airways will maintain its operations to Dakar.
