Guangzhou is the capital of Guangdong Province in southern China. Located as part of the Pearl River Delta, Guangzhou lies between 112°57'E to 114°3'E and 22°26'N to 23°56'N. The city spreads across 7, 434 sq. km. 

It is also the fifth most populous in China. Guangzhou Guangdong enjoys sub-tropical type of climate. The annual average temperature of Guangzhou is about 22 degree Celsius, with August being the hottest month and January the coldest. During the rainy season between the months of April and August, Guangzhou receives almost 1700 millimeter of rainfall. Major exchange earners include; Machinery and electronic products, garments and fashion accessories. It has a population of 68.7 million.
The official language is Mandarin (or Putonghua, based on the Beijing dialect). Local dialects include Yue (Cantonese), Wu (Shanghaiese), Minbei (Fuzhou), Minnan (Hokkien-Taiwanese), Xiang, Gan, Hakka dialects, and other minority languages. Most tourist hotels have staff that are fluent in foreign languages.

Hong Kong perches on the edge of mainland China occupying an anomalous position as a territory straddling two worlds. Hong Kong consists of four sections: Kowloon, Hong Kong Island, the New Territories and the Outlying Islands.
The Economy is uniformly capitalistand thrives on a free market, minimum taxation system. It is one of the world's largest trading centers and has a very high annual.  The currency, Hong Kong dollar, is the eighth most traded currency in the world as of 2010.

The climate is typically subtropical and quite humid. Winters from December to March, tend to be cooler and drier. Summers are warm with frequent showers, the temperature peaks in July-August to over 31 o C. Autumn is sunny and dry. There are occasional instances of cyclonic winds in late summer and early autumn. October to December are good months to travel to Hong Kong.Cantonese and Mandarin are the main dialects spoken in Hong Kong. English is widely used although no longer the medium of instruction in local schools.
