Kenya Airways flight operations continue as per schedule

Nairobi, August 5, 2011… Kenya Airways would like to confirm to its customers, travel trade and members of the public that its flights are operating normally as per the schedule.

Only KQ 760/1 to and from Johannesburg has been cancelled due to lack of equipment to operate. Passengers on this flight have been rebooked on KQ 762/3.

Kenya Airways CEO, Dr. Titus Naikuni, has reassured Kenya Airways passengers and the general public that the airline’s operations are functioning as scheduled. “All the 127 flights scheduled to operate today have been fully crewed and we do not expect any major disruptions,” says Dr. Naikuni.

Kenya Airways management continues to respect due process regarding negotiations with the Aviation Allied Workers Union on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.  The matter, currently pending in the Industrial Court, will come up for hearing on 31st August.

In addition, Kenya Airways wishes to reiterate that all management decisions taken are aimed at ensuring that the interests of all stakeholders – our customers, our staff, our shareholders – are met. It is for this reason that we continue to engage with our stakeholders through various platforms. This is in order to ensure that Kenya Airways provides a fulfilling career and proper working environment for its staff while ensuring a favorable return on investment for the shareholders and offering superior service to our customers.

“We also seek to ensure that we achieve and maintain industry best practice in all our undertakings to ensure that Kenya Airways achieves World Class Standards,” concludes Dr. Naikuni.
